Former long time Wantagh resident John Codignotto Jr. passed away on January 20th, 2011 at the age of 69 with his whole family by his side. He was a father, mentor, and hero to his three devoted sons, John, Tom, and Nick from his thirty year marriage to their loving mother Barbara Codignotto. He leaves behind his two adoring sisters Joyce Tuszl, Jean Koji and brother-in-law Bill. He will be deeply missed by his 5 wonderful grandchildren, Giovanni, Antonio, Marco, Lia and Serafina and their beautiful mothers, John's daughter-in-laws Anne and Lisa. He worked as a carpenter for a large part of his life and after being diagnosed with cancer in 2003, he purchased land upstate New York and single-handedly built his dream home in the country at the age of 67. He was a tremendous athlete, lettering in three sports at Wantagh High School, and winning the Long Island Wrestling Championship in 1960 as a senior. John rests at the Cemetary of the Holy Rood, Westbury NY.

He will be dearly missed.
